After rumours swirled yesterday that Neymar had agreed a sensational €222 million (£190m) move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Brazilian has come out to make it clear that he’s still enjoying his time at Barcelona.
Neymar has been heavily linked with a move away from the Camp Nou with PSG said to have agreed a deal with the player’s camp subject to Barca’s consent.
But the 25-year-old has moved to quash the reports, insisting he’s “happy” at Camp Nou and said he is looking forward to next season, Goal writes.
“The last one was my best season in Barcelona. I am very adapted to the city, the club and I am happy here. That is reflected on the performance of an athlete,” Neymar said in response to the widespread rumours.
“It was the season where I felt more comfortable, even though we did not win the titles we would have wanted. We played great games and lived incredible moments. Now, we need to work for the 2017-18 season so it will be even more positive individually and as a group.”
The Brazil international is tied to the club until 2021 after renewing his contract in October of last year and Barcelona maintained earlier on Tuesday that they were “200 per cent” certain he would stay this summer.
Neymar and the rest of the Barca squad, including talisman Lionel Messi are currently in the United States getting ready for the International Champions Cup.
