You are desperate for publicity- Garba Shehu reacts to Fayose's call for Buhari's resignation
Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has described Ekiti state governor's call for President Buhari's resignation as an act of someone desperate for publicity. Gov. Ayo Fayose yesterday spoke with newsmen in Lagos where he called on President Buhari to resign over his failing heath.
In a chat with Channels TV last night, Garba said he was disappointed to be called upon to react to Fayose's statement. According to the presidential media aide, the presidency never responds to anything Fayose says.
"I’m sad that you are inviting me to speak on Governor Fayose. If you follow the Presidency, we don’t talk when he talks because he is desperate for publicity. We have a constitution that governs the country and the constitution is very clear about how the country runs. This country has a tripod of authority in terms of distribution of political power. You have the parliament which is doing its own work, you have the judiciary which is running, you have the executive and we don’t have any problem with this so therefore if anybody has a problem with the constitution then they should go and change it.”

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, says the demand for the secession of the South East from Nigeria is because the nation seems not to be functioning and can never function. Kanu said this in an interview with Al-Jazeerah ,to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Biafran war yesterday May 30th.
Speaking in the living room at his Father's house in Umuahia, Abia state, Kanu said Nothing seems to be working in Nigeria. There is pain and hardship everywhere. What we're fighting [for] is not self-determination for the sake of it. It's because Nigeria is not functioning and can never function." "
Kanu who was granted bail last month, says he doesn't care if he is flouting one of the terms for his bail which prohibits him from granting media interviews.
"I don't care. I can't go outside to call for a press conference. I can't go on Biafra Radio to broadcast. I can't allow large [groups of] people to basically congregate outside to see me … it's like asking me not to breathe," he said
Kanu decried the perceived marginalization of the Ibos in Nigeria, saying that they have been prevented from aspiring to assume important positions in the country such as President, Inspector General of Police, Chief of Army Staff amongst others
"I'm not allowed to contest for the presidency of Nigeria because I'm Igbo. I'm not allowed to aspire to become the inspector general of police because I'm Igbo. I'm not allowed to become chief of army staff because I'm Igbo. What sort of stupid country is that? Why would any idiot want me to be in that sort of country?" he said.

A Chinese Kung Fu expert whose news stunned many when he first dragged seven cars with his penis has become the new record holder for replicating his incredible talent, but this time on a Helicopter.
Ye Hongwei, while standing in front of spectators, recently towed a heavy military helicopter with a rope tied around his genitals at the tarmac outside the hangar in Fangshan District, Chinese capital Beijing.
In the footage, he was first seen struggling with the helicopter but later summoned the courage to drag the helicopter over 10 metres (32 feet 9 inches), beating his intended target of 8 metres (26 feet 3 inches)
After he attained the incredible milestone he received a world record certificate by officials representing the World Record Academy.
Speaking after the unbelievable event, Ye Wei said:
"I don't know why I struggled in the beginning. I felt a bit nervous and unsure. But I mustered up the energy needed and started the helicopter moving."

Very Graphic Photos: Residents Mistook Soldier For A Robber,Lynch & Burn Him To Death (Photos)
A military officer with the 5th Infantry Battalion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra but on detachment duties at Diaso in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central region has been lynched by residents on suspicion of being an armed robber.
Captain Maxwell Mahama who is commander of a military detachment in the area according to his subordinates, on Monday dawn was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, they saw the pistol on him.
According to them, he was not dressed in military uniform and because of recent spate of armed robbery in the town after residents were attacked a day earlier, the women called the Assembly man who organized the youth of the town to lynch him.
Several pleas by the security officer to the effect that he was not a criminal yielded no result as the angry residents kept hitting him life threatening object including cement blocks until he died.
News of his death was later conveyed to his subordinates who visited the scene to ascertain things for themselves.
The body has since been conveyed to a health facility in the area but for fear of being attacked by the soldiers who may avenge his death, the youths have started fleeing the town realizing that the deceased was not a criminal as they thought.
New School Artistes Are Disrespectful – African China
Veteran act, African China, has brought to fore his frustration with some new school artistes.
Speaking with Planet TV, the MR PRESIDENT crooner, disclosed that the level of disrespect some of these artistes dish out to veterans is uncalled for.
He further recounted his experience with one of such artistes, whom he exchanged numbers with and proceeded to call only for his call to be ignored. Not stopping there, he continued saying, soon after their position at the top of the food chain is snatched they come back to veterans like himself asking how they have managed to remain relevant.

Mavin/Roc Nation artiste, Tiwa Savage, opened up on several issues concerning music, her sound, record labels and more in an all new interview with Akua Ofei of Nation Of Billions.

On her foray into the music industry:
“Oh my goodness X Factor was bittersweet,” she says with a small laugh when I ask about her time on the show. “It was a heartbreaking experience at that time. Obviously, because I didn’t get through – I think I got eliminated just before the final 10, and I was heartbroken. But then, I say sweet because I feel like if I’d gotten through I probably wouldn’t be doing the type of music I’m doing now. I probably would be doing strictly Pop music or R’n’B music. So I think God knew what He was doing.”“It was a situation where I got a glimpse of what was to come and I was able to go back and really prepare myself. I always say this: ‘Opportunity favours the prepared’ – I don’t know if I was prepared mentally then. And also, I had to really go back. Go to Berklee College of Music, learn music. Moved to America, learned how to write songs. Worked with a lot of amazing artists that I’ve always looked up to – all my life. And that’s where I discovered the buzz that was happening in Africa because when I was in America, everyone would say ‘Tiwa, where are you from?’ and I’d tell them oh, I’m from Nigeria and they’d say ‘wow!’ They were so fascinated by the music, the culture and I was like why am I trying to do something else when these people are interested in what’s going on in Africa? And that’s when I moved back [to Nigeria from America] so it all adds up. I’m glad I actually didn’t get through on X Factor but at the same time, if you’d asked me I probably would have ripped your head off at the time. You know, sometimes when you go into situations and this door is shutting, and this door is shutting and that door – it forces you to look inward. Because you can’t get what you thought you needed at that time, it forces you to reevaluate yourself.”
On her relationship with Wizkid:
“I’ve known Wizkid for many years, as soon as I moved to Nigeria. I would like to say we kind of started around the same time really – when he was signed to EME, and came out with ‘Holla At Your Boy’ – so we have a really really good relationship. And when I had the song[Bad] for the album ‘Red’, it was actually the producer’s idea to reach out to Wizkid because [Wizkid] was the only person [the producer] could hear on the song as a feature. And I sent the record to him, and when he laid the vocals down it was just one of those really perfect synergies – we did the video, and the song really, really, got a lot of buzz so I’m grateful to Wiz for jumping on that record.”
On adhering to afrobeats foundation:
“With anything, there’s always an evolution. With sound, with fashion – anything. I’m just really happy that elements of the traditional Afrobeat is still there – who I attribute to Fela Kuti, who I think is the king, the godfather of that sound, that movement. But like I said, it’s an evolution and it also stems from influences. A lot of us grew up outside Nigeria – in the UK, the US, Europe wherever. Even outside Nigeria but within Africa – so there’s a lot of influences of Reggae, Soul, R’n’B, Pop – even the sounds from here in the UK. But in everything, I’m still very very happy that elements of it are there whether it’s pidgin or whether it’s Yoruba or Nigerian language – elements of the beat is still there. And I’d like – I hope – it still remains in there as the evolution goes on.”
On international labels building their market in Africa, the ALL OVER crooner said:
From my personal experience, especially signing with Roc Nation – they are more interested in maintaining what it is that’s gotten me this far and what has gotten us this far. So, they’re not really trying to change the sound. I would say maybe branding and artist development – in terms of, our music industry is completely different in Africa than it is in the US or UK – so it’s just learning a different infrastructure – the product is still the same. It’s just working on the branding or packaging a little bit. I have to maintain that otherwise, what’s the point really? You’ll lose the essence of the movement and this movement is bigger than one artist. It’s a revolution. So we have to be mindful that we’re representing a continent and we’re representing new artists that will come up after us and they have to maintain that sound as well.”

Mavin first lady, Tiwa Savage, is the latest act to come under deep scrutiny of non-fans during her performance in Ghana recently.
According to popular actress/comedienne, who goes by the name Afia Schwarzengger
on social media, the singer disrespected her people and the nation as a
whole during her performance there, by dropping the country’s flag.
Tiwa, amongst a few other Nigerian artistes, had attended the Ghana Meets Naija ’17 show, which saw the singer performing a couple of her hit songs to teh delight of the screaming crowd.

Moalim Geedow, the regional governor representing the al Qaeda-linked insurgency, said Hassan was buried in a hole then pelted with stones.
He said: 'The man was married with two wives and children. He was publicly stoned to death today for committing adultery according to the Islamic sharia. The man had a third woman who was a divorcee. He did not have her according to sharia. He deceived her, saying that he went to a sheikh and that he married her. However, when the woman got pregnant, the two families debated and there was no trace of valid matrimony. The court ruled he did not marry her legally and he was stoned to death."
Since 2006, Al-Shabaab has been fighting a violent insurgency in Somalia to overthrow the government and impose its own strict interpretation of Islamic law. In recent years the terrorist group has lost control of many towns and cities to a 22,000-strong force of African Union peacekeepers. However, the group retains a presence in many villages and remains capable of launching deadly attacks.
This will not be the first time a man is being partially buried and then stoned to death for adultery by Islamist militants. Good News!! Nigerians Can Now Own Houses With N30,000 – Osinbajo
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo says under the N100 billion social housing scheme of the present administration, anyone who can afford N30,000 will be able to own a house.
He said this at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday at an event tagged “A Smile for Every Nigerian” organised to commemorate the administration’s second anniversary.
The acting president explained that the housing scheme was part of the administration’s social intervention prpgramme that had not been mentioned.
He said: “This is 100bn set aside for the Family Home Fund our Social Housing Project. The 100b is a yearly contribution to our N1trn Social Housing Fund, the largest in the history of the country.
The World Bank and the African Development Bank are contributors to the Fund.
From this Fund, developers will borrow 80% of the cost of project and counter fund with their own 20%.
“The same fund will enable us to provide inexpensive mortgages for hundreds of thousands across the country who want to own homes.
Anyone who can afford N30,000 will be able to buy a home under our new social housing fund scheme. Already, the project has started in 11 states. We expect that this family housing fund will jump start and expand construction exponentially across the country.”
Speaking further, the acting president maintained that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth should translate to jobs.
“First the trickle down model has proved far too slow to stem the tide of poverty in one of the fastest growing populations in the world. Secondly, most of the growth was on account of the oil sector which is capital intensive but not labour intensive.
“So, while we were recording growth levels of 7% because of the high oil prices, unemployment figures grew, the acting president stated.
He sad in developing the APC manifesto and the economic development plans, the administration knew it had to directly intervene with a massive social investment programme that would tackle poverty and exclusion across the various spectra.
